GlobeCaster Helps Community Television Station Present Live Performance to the World.

The versatility of GlobeCaster has increased broadcasting options and flexibility while saving significant amounts of time and money in any communications environment.

Downtown Community Television (DCTV), an Emmy Award-winning television center in New York City, uses its GlobeCaster to produce and broadcast their interactive performance Live From Downtown. On June 18, Live From Downtown presented an excerpt from The Crystal Box, an improvisational work that used GlobeCaster to fuse multi-layered digital elements and virtual sets with live musical performance and audience interactivity.

"Not only do our broadcasts have a polished, professional appearance, but everyone using the GlobeCaster now finds its ease-of-use indispensable to producing a broadcast. Further, it has also opened the door to the Internet, allowing our programs to be viewed on the Web and enjoyed as an interactive experience between the artists and the online community."

"We couldn't be happier with the GlobeCaster, " said DCTV Founder Jon Alpert.

DCTV's Artists-in-Residence William and Kathleen Laziza designed the digital effects and virtual sets in the performance using the GlobeCaster. The artists used GlobalStreams' chroma-keyed virtual set system to create a dynamic set complete with images from multiple sources that have been remapped onto three-dimensional shapes and reflective virtual mirrors with the GlobeCaster.

GlobeCaster is playing an essential role for in many community television organizations.
