GlobeCaster flexes its muscle for millions who attend Minneapolis Metrodome events

Fans of the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings, as well as other performers visiting the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, will see more than just the center stage action thanks in part to GlobeCaster.

The comprehensive studio capabilities of the all-in-one GlobeCaster help the Metrodome's production team pull-together everything they present to as many as 63,000 fans per game.

"GlobeCaster acts as a big screen traffic light," said Manager of Media Dick Davis. "Everything from player statistics to video effects to instant replays goes through GlobeCaster before being displayed on the stadium's Daktronics Pro Star screens."

The GlobalStreams flagship technology serves as the Metrodome's character generator for posting player names, statistics, and upcoming events in addition to other functions such as animation and effects generation. In addition, the GlobeCaster mixes video and graphical elements from additional studio equipment before transmitting the signal directly to the stadium's big screens.

In addition to its comprehensive functionality and high-quality output, GlobeCaster is saving time and money for the Metrodome.

"Because of the complete studio functionality that GlobeCaster provides, we have been able to save a great deal on single-purpose equipment like an additional switcher, effects generator and a downstream keyer," said Davis. "We've also been able to create high quality productions using fewer people in a smaller amount of studio space with GlobeCaster."
