Configuring the AP100: Column Map |
OverviewThere are eight columns on the AP100, each corresponding to an audio channel. Which channels these columns correspond to can be assigned via a Column Map. There are five preset Column Maps currently available to the user:
The eight columns correspond to the eight analog channel inputs on the back of the GlobeCaster. This is the default Column Map.
The eight columns correspond to the eight digital channel internal to the GlobeCaster.
The eight columns correspond to the first set of eight mixer channels on the Audio Mixer Panel. The mapping of the mixer channels to analog or digital channels is handled by the Mixer Preferences Panel.
The eight columns correspond to the second set of eight mixer channels on the Audio Mixer Panel. The mapping of the mixer channels to analog or digital channels is handled by the Mixer Preferences Panel.
The first two columns correspond to Monitor Left & Right, the second two columns to Master Left & Right, and the next two columns to Return Left & Right. The last two columns are unused. There is an additional option referred to as the Custom Device Mapping. This is reserved for future uses. Configuring the Column Map using the External Mixer SubmenuWhen a device has been connected, the corresponding menu item is checked (see Figure 5) and the Column Map menu items are enabled for that device in its External Mixer Submenu (see Figure 6). The current mapping is shown with a check mark. Simply select one of the items to select the corresponding column map.
Configuring the Column Map using the AP100The user can just as easily specify the Column Map using the four toggle buttons in the lower right corner on the AP100 (see Figure 7). The toggle buttons are described below:
This button specifies whether we are using the Analog/Digital channel map or Mixer channel map. The button is toggled on (lit) for the Analog/Digital channels and off (unlit) for the Mixer channels. This button specifies whether we are using the first set or second set of eight channels. When the button is toggled on (lit), we are using the first eight channels (Analog 1-8 or Mixers 1-8). When the button is toggled off, we are using the second eight channels (Digital 1-8 or Mixers 9-16). When this button is toggled on (lit), the Monitor/Master/Return Column Map is used. When this button is toggled off, the two upper buttons specify the Column Map. When this button is toggled on (lit), the Custom Device Mapping is used (for future use). When this button is toggled off, the two upper buttons specify the Column Map. In Figure 7, no button is toggled on so the current Column Map would be Mixers 1-8.
